Princess and friends...

a painting on canvas...hung on the wall

folk art mixed media whimsical illustration

I love little birds, I believe they are messengers from the Divine

The Woods of my soul

A new illustration in pencil inspired by my spiritual connection with the woods and by hundreds of fairy tales about a maiden that gets lost in the woods to find her true path...

It is difficult to show the real colors in photo but I am publishing it because the original is very beautiful and evocative.

High tide-Alta marea

An all pencil illustration inspired by the sea and the full moon...High tide

Un'illustrazione realizzata in matita ispirata dal mare e dalla luna piena...Alta marea

Flying girl

Flying girl- La ragazza volante

a folk art painting made on an EXTREMELY SHABBY wood piece that I ADORE because it's soooo ruined....
a free and dreamy flying girl with stars in her hair.

ecco un'illustrazione su un magnifico pezzo di legno ESTREMAMENTE SHABBY che io ovviamente ADORO perchè è rovinatissimo....

una libera e sognante flying girl con stelle fra i capelli, soggetto folk art.

Night Fairy

An only-pencil drawing, my first experiment of this delicate tecnique,

inspired by summer nights and the full moon.

Un'illustrazione realizzata con sole matite, il mio primo esperimento con questa tecnica delicata,

ispirata dalle notti estive e dalla luna piena....

La Primavera - Spring

The light is changing, the air is lighter, little birds start to sing in the early morning...

Spring is preparing her way slowly and gracefully...

here she is, with her sun colored hair and the sweet face  of  rebirth .
Ancient memories of love, nature and belonging embrace me

while Spring, sweet and worm, gentle and light, comes again with a dancing step and a fresh smile...

today's painting: the Journey

I love the feeling of sweet adventure and discovery of this painting...

I was listening to my own music while I was painting.

The sea has a special meaning ...deep feelings, the unknown, but also a sort of benevolent all-knowing mother like creature that takes you into the journey of your soul...

Keep true to your dreams

A painting I had unfinished that I finished today.
I originally made it for my kitchen but the space was too narrow for it at the end.

So....happy for it to go to another kitchen to inspire another "lady of the house" to keep true to the dreams of her heart.

The magic tree

A magical tree, full of mystery and power is one of my most treasured  inner images.

My trees and my characters are always changing but the story is still there.

I also have musical pieces of magical woods and trees, of doors in trees and of children or maids secretely communicating with old and wise  trees.

This time I had fun with my new tablet and lost myself in unusual colors that speak magic and wonder...

Picking flowers

The 15th of August was my birthday and one of my presents was a graphic tablet to draw digitally.

I've never really considered this "medium" because it seemed unnatural to me, as I just LOVE to get dirty in colors, playing with every sort of media always following the inspiration of the day.

Yesterday I tried to learn to use the tablet, looking up instead of on my paper, trying to experiment with lines and colors and I had great fun. The feel is still of creating something inexisting because I don't have a canvas, a piece of paper , a board of wood...but I discovered that this kind of illustration has a life and a character of its own and a whimsical spirit that I like. I only miss the material side and I would like this immediatly printed to "have it"and "own it"....
Here are two framed versions, I liked them both so I called them n.1 and n. 2.

And here are two beautiful bags I designed with this illustration...
Just love them!

The imprisoned Princess

This unhappy princess has been imprisoned because of her forbidden love...

But love is stronger than her enemies and she continues to have faith in her good fate.

She knows that if she keeps true to her soul, the magic in her heart will

work out a solution and one day she will be free.

I had a piece of wood from a broken kitchen unit and I decided to collage it completely before drawing and painting on it. I had an old score of Gregorian music and this inspired me to tell a medieval story...
